Karen Crompton MBACP (Snr Accred), UKRCP

MA Couns.,  Adv.Dip.Couns., Cert.Sup., Dip.Eating Disorders, BA(Hons) Psych.

I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor, Eating Disorder Practitioner and Clinical Supervisor. As a Therapist in Private Practice  since 1995 I have provided counselling in the NHS, Occupational Health and University Services, with Employee Assistance Programmes, Domestic Abuse Programmes and Charity Organisations such as Victim Support, Women's Aid and Women's Centres.  I supervise  qualified Counsellors and Counsellors in training individually and in groups.

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development and have  undergone further  Counselling and Therapy training to Masters Level as well as in Eating Disorders, Domestic Abuse and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I successfully achieved Accreditation with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) in 2000 and gained Senior Accredited status in 2007. I am also a  graduate member of the British Psychological Society.

I  practice as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and Person Centred Therapist,  offering a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, respect,  acceptance, warmth and transparency. I draw on my knowledge and experience of Counselling and Psychotherapy to work in a way that is most effective for you, at your pace. I believe that each of us has the capacity for growth and development.

Counselling is built on the trusting relationship between counsellor and client. As a counsellor I do not give advice, my role is to ' be along side you' so you don't feel alone, and through our work together, help you find the answers that are within yourself. I can help you recognise and acknowledge your strengths: qualities that will help you cope more effectively with the challenges in your life. We  work together to identify and understand behaviour patterns which may be preventing you from a fulfilling life, giving you the knowledge, insight and power to improve your life.

Experienced in working with anxiety, anger, depression, self esteem and relationship issues I  have a specialist interest in working with Domestic Abuse, Eating Issues and Work Issues.

I am a registered provider with BUPA, Pruhealth, Cigna, Aviva and WPA

Heather Ayres MBACP, UKRCP

BA (Hons) Couns., Higher Nat. Dip. Counselling, Cert. Sup., Cert. Mediation

I am a qualified, BACP registered Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Mediator. My practice began in 1998; I have worked in the NHS, Further and Higher Education, and charity organisations such as the Crescent Project, Woking and Kingston Womens' Centre.  I worked at Brooklands College FE/HE for 10 years.

I am an Integrative therapist whose work is underpinned by the principles of acceptance, genuineness. openness and empathy. My work is collaborative and emphasises individual freedom, responsibility and choice. There are CBT elements to my practice for individuals preferring this approach.  People comment upon my personal warmth and approachability. The trust that is developed through our working relationship is central to the success of therapy. People sometimes get "stuck" in unhelpful patterns of behaviour and we can work together to achieve understanding, insight and potential change.

I have extensive experience in working with adolescents, self harm, anger issues, anxiety, bereavement, depression, co-dependency, and relationship issues.
